When Stand with Dignity learned that black workers were not able to get to work because they were burdened with huge fines for minor violations the Black Worker Center went to work to find a solution. After learning about an ad hoc court set up at a homeless shelter where folks too poor to pay their debts, yet too afraid of possible arrest to go to the courthouse, go try and resolve their issues. Organizer, Anza Becnel knew STAND could expand the concept court to address access to transportation challenges.  The result of their mobilization resulted in a Warrant Clinic where many including STAND member Izell Mays have been able to see traffic fines greatly reduced and today can legally drive.
