Darius Smith is the Incubator Lead Organizer based in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and studied Electrical and Computer Engineering. For the last (9) years, Darius has been organizing healthcare workers in the Pacific Northwest with SEIU. During his time there, he served as a Lead Organizer, Chief Contract Negotiator, and Lead Racial Justice Organizer using his skills to uplift workers, but especially helping employers create a work environment that fosters inclusivity and belonging for Black workers. He hopes that one day anti-Black racism will be dismantled. In his free time, you can find him hiking, reading, cooking, and debating Chicago vs. New York pizza.
